Hi, Lucas! I appreciate you checking out the article & your question. I don’t have any published content around the QA design process but before handing off to engineering, I typically check designs for:

  • Accessibility concerns, especially color contrast issues.
  • Stress testing with localized content to see how content flows from 1-line to multiple lines.
  • Seeing how the design on different screen sizes.
  • Simulating the behavior if a user applies Dynamic Type on their device (Largest case is scaled up by 140% & smallest case is scaled down to 85%).
  • Simulating the Dark Mode experience (Lyft has a nifty plugin that does this automatically for us).
